DAY ONE Arrive at your accommodation and settle in. DAY TWO Visit Poole Harbour which is one of the best places in the country to see native and migratory bird species. The day will include a visit to Arne nature reserve and a boat trip either to Brownsea Island or around Poole Harbour. Expect spoonbills, white-tailed eagles, ospreys, red squirrels and deer. DAY THREE A relaxed day exploring the chalk downlands of Dorset, where butterflies and wild flowers thrive. Options vary depending on the level of walking you want to undertake. DAY FOUR A tour of the Isle of Portland and the Chesil Bank. Start your day with a visit to The Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre and hop on a hour-long boat trip on the Fleet Explorer to find out more about this internationally important Marine Protected Area. On then to Portland to explore this unique landscape and then call in at the pretty harbour at Weymouth. DAY FIVE Visit Kingcombe National Nature Reserve, hidden in the quiet valleys of West Dorset. Start at their informative visitor centre before a leisurely exploration of untouched meadows, ancient woodland and the tranquil river Hooke. DAY SIX The longest un-interrupted stretch of coastal limestone grassland in Europe is found on Dorset’s coast and today you will be walking however much of this you like, taking in the Jurassic Coast and looking out for birds and butterflies, including the eponymous Lulworth Skipper. There are opportunities for swimming and you could include Kimmeridge Bay which is within a marine conservation area and offers a guided snorkel trail. DAY SEVEN Time to head home after a hearty breakfast.
