Visit the picturesque village Cerne Abbas with its 180' high chalk giant

Itinerary
This tour unfolds along the peaceful byways of North Dorset, visiting interesting places along the way and beginning with a visit to Milton Abbas, a village with a unique history - built by the local landowner in the 1770s to relocate the villagers who were spoiling the view from his abbey mansion. Next your journey takes you to Shaftesbury where you can walk in the footsteps of the famous Hovis advert on Gold Hill, explore the abbey ruins and find some lunch on the bustling high street. Continuing on, we arrive at Sturminster Newton where you will visit a water mill where wheat is still ground by water-power, calling in at a little known medieval manor house en-route. Lastly, travel through some of the most unspoilt countryside in the county to see The Rude Man of Cerne, a giant chalk figure carved into the hillside and visit the historic village of Cerne Abbas. All in all, around three hours driving with plenty of time to explore the towns and villages along the way.
