Starting price includes accommodation at a comfortable inn, breakfast and tours (excluding entrance fees) and are based on two people sharing.  We can also book lunch and dinner and arrange transfers from airports and stations at additional cost.

Not strictly a Dorset holiday but it makes a great base for exploring some of the big sights of the southwest of England. Visit magnificent Bath with its Roman baths and beautiful Georgian architecture, mysterious Stonehenge, The Jurassic Coast, Stourhead house and gardens and take a ferry to the island of Brownsea in Poole Harbour to spot red squirrels and rare birds.

Dinners will be arranged at our favourite, award-winning restaurants, pubs and hotels and accommodation will vary according to what availability there is for your dates.  Let us know if there is somewhere you would particularly like to stay.

We are happy to work your itinerary around any other things you would like to include and can recommend places for lunch or provide picnics (we know some great spots!) of locally sourced, artisinal food.

ITINERARY

Day 1 -  Arrive and settle into your accommodation before exploring the surrounding area

Day 2 - Visit Stourhead House and Gardens just over the border in Wiltshire.  The paladian mansion and magnificent landscaped gardens are both in the care of The National Trust.

Day 3 - Explore the village of Corfe Castle with its pretty cottages and towering castle and take the steam train to Swanage to stroll along the seafront.

Day 4 - Visit mysterious Stonehenge and Avebury in Wiltshire to see the world-famous stone circles and learn about life in the Neolithic period.

Day 5 - Take a tour of The Jurassic Coast and see iconic Durdle Door.  Starting at Lulworth Cove with its beautiful horseshoe bay, you can walk to Durdle Door if you fancy stretching your legs.  On then to Abbotsbury with its colony of mute swans and ancient abbey remains and finally  to Weymouth harbour where you can eat fish and chips and watch the boats sail by.

Day 6 - Visit Bath for a full day of sightseeing and shopping including the 2,000 year old Roman baths, the abbey, Royal Crescent and Georgian Pump Room.

Day 7 - After a leisurely breakfast, fit in something of your choice before departure.  We'll work with you to find the right thing.
