Dorset Escapes
A long weekend for foodies
Dorset has a long tradition of producing some of the very best food in the country, with its coastal waters full of fish, crab and lobsters, the downlands perfect for rearing sheep and the vales full of small dairies producing wonderful local cheese. New producers are reviving many a lost art and the county is full of modern cider orchards, micro-breweries, vinyards and interesting restuarants. Foodie heaven!

ITINERARY
Your weekend will vary depending on the time of year and what events are on but it could include any (or possibly all) of the following:
Day 1 - An epicurean picnic, with food and drink from local, artisan producers, on a beach or a hilltop whilst taking in the view. Dinner at a top seafood restaurant.
Day 2 - Learning to bake bread the traditional way with a local baker followed by a visit to a local vinyard, brewery or cider orchard to learn about their art and sample some of their wares .
Day 3 - Foraging for wild food and fungi followed by the English ritual that is afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, cakes and scones in an idyllic rural village before heading off home.
Dinners will be arranged at our favourite, award-winning restaurants, pubs and hotels and accommodation will vary according to what availability there is for your dates.
We are happy to work your itinerary around any other things you would like to include and can recommend places for lunch or provide picnics (we know some great spots!) of locally sourced, artisinal food.
